The first day enters Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the Yuanjiajie pillar landscape, part of the wider UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan area. Quartz-sandstone towers rise above forested ravines, scenery associated with the visual inspiration for Avatar. The 326-metre Bailong Elevator provides access to the upper viewpoints and holds the Guinness World Records title for tallest outdoor elevator.
Day two combines the 430-metre bridge above Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon with the limestone chambers and optional underground boat section of Yellow Dragon Cave, followed by a boat journey on Baofeng Lake. Tianmen Mountain completes the private route with cableway views, cliffside paths, a Buddhist temple, the 999-step staircase and Tianmen Cave, the natural arch known as Heaven's Gate.

Day 1
Zhangjiajie
Yuanjiajie and Bailong Elevator
Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and travel to the Yuanjiajie area within the wider UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan landscape. Walk along viewpoints among quartz-sandstone pillars associated with the visual inspiration for Pandora in Avatar. Ride the 326-metre Bailong Elevator to the upper area; Guinness World Records recognises it as the tallest outdoor elevator. In the evening, an optional local cultural performance with dance, costume and music is available at additional cost.

Day 2
Zhangjiajie
Glass Bridge, Yellow Dragon Cave and Baofeng Lake
Cross the 430-metre glass bridge spanning Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, with the gorge and cliffs below. Continue to Yellow Dragon Cave, also called Huanglong Cave, and follow the illuminated underground route through large limestone halls, stalactites and stalagmites; an optional sightseeing boat reveals another section of the cave. Later, take a boat across Baofeng Lake in the Suoxi Valley area, surrounded by steep, forested mountains.

Zhangjiajie
Tianmen Mountain and Airport Departure
Ascend Tianmen Mountain by cableway and continue through the summit landscape. Follow cliffside paths, step onto a glass walkway when conditions allow and visit the Buddhist temple on the mountain. See Tianmen Cave, the natural arch known as Heaven's Gate, reached on one route by a staircase of 999 steps. After the excursion, transfer to Zhangjiajie Airport for a flight scheduled after 7:00 pm.

The tour begins around 9:00–10:00, and arriving one day early is recommended; an extra hotel night can be arranged. Choose a final-day flight after 7:00 pm. A minimum of two guests applies, while a solo booking is charged at double the tour price. A 50% deposit secures the trip, with the balance paid locally in cash in yuan; admission tickets are separate. Cancellation within 24 hours of confirmation receives a full refund, after which payments become non-refundable because park tickets are bought in advance. Mountain weather or safety conditions may require route changes.

Which season is ideal for a Zhangjiajie trip?
Spring and autumn are especially appealing. April to June often brings lush vegetation, fuller waterfalls and atmospheric mist, while September and October usually offer comfortable walking weather and autumn colour. Summer is hotter and busier; winter is quieter, with occasional snow but a greater chance of fog. The national-holiday periods in early May and early October bring the largest crowds.
What time does the tour begin?
The first day's programme normally starts at approximately 9:00–10:00, allowing enough time for the mountain route without rushing. Arriving in Zhangjiajie one day earlier is strongly recommended, especially after a long flight or rail journey. The manager can add an extra hotel night and provide the applicable rate.
When does the tour finish, and which flight should I book?
The final day includes Tianmen Mountain before the airport transfer, so choose a flight departing after 7:00 pm. This timing leaves room to complete the cableway and walking route at a comfortable pace. Allow additional flexibility during busy periods or mountain weather, when attraction operations may take longer.
How much should I allow for admission tickets?
The published adult amounts are CNY 420 for the Avatar Mountains area, CNY 336 for the Glass Bridge, CNY 200 for Yellow Dragon Cave, CNY 120 for Baofeng Lake and CNY 340 for Tianmen Mountain. These admissions are paid separately. Park rates and bundled transport components can change, so use the figures as a planning budget.
Can mountain conditions change the route?
Yes. Weather, rockfall risk, landslides or other circumstances outside the team's control may require the programme to be reordered, shortened or adjusted. Mountain safety takes priority, and cableways, bridges or paths can pause operation when conditions demand it. Keep some flexibility in the day while the team protects the main experience wherever possible.
What are the deposit and cancellation conditions?
A 50% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining tour balance is paid locally on arrival in cash in Chinese yuan; admission tickets are separate. If you cancel within 24 hours after confirmation, the deposit is refunded in full. After that window, payment is non-refundable because popular park tickets are purchased in advance under non-refundable attraction rules.
