Casablanca – Chefchaouen
Begin at the Hassan II Mosque on Casablanca's Atlantic shore, recognised by its 200-metre minaret and detailed Moroccan craftsmanship. Continue north to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. With your guide, explore the blue-washed medina, following narrow lanes through its distinctive mountainside setting and discovering how the old quarter's architecture and living craft traditions shape the city.
Chefchaouen – Fes
Leave Chefchaouen for Fès and enter Fès el-Bali, the historic core of the UNESCO-listed medina. Founded in the ninth century, the medina preserves a dense urban fabric of lanes, residences, religious buildings, fountains and traditional commercial spaces. Follow your guide through the principal sights and experience the rhythm of a historic quarter that remains a living centre of faith, craft and commerce.
Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga
Cross the Middle Atlas with a stop in Ifrane, a mountain town at about 1,650 metres known for its red-roofed architecture. Continue through cedar country, habitat of the Barbary macaque; wildlife may be seen, but sightings are never guaranteed. The route then reaches Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Near sunset, set out by camel across the desert landscape. At camp, the scheduled evening continues around the fire with dancing and Moroccan drum music.
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate
Rise early to watch daylight spread across the Saharan dunes. Optional quad-bike or buggy rides can be arranged separately before the group continues towards Todgha Gorge near Tinghir. Walk beneath its high rock walls, then travel onward to Ouarzazate. Visit Atlas Studios, founded near the city in 1983, where surviving sets evoke productions including The Mummy and Gladiator. The precise visitor route and available sets can vary, so the experience follows access on the day.
Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Travel to the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou, a compact pre-Saharan settlement of earthen buildings enclosed by defensive walls and corner towers. Explore the ksar and its cinematic history, linked to productions including The Mummy, Gladiator, Prince of Persia and season three of Game of Thrones. After the visit, continue through the changing southern landscape to Marrakech. Arrive in the evening, with time to take in the city's atmosphere at your own pace.
Marrakech
Discover three contrasting sides of Marrakech. Begin at Jardin Majorelle, where pools, varied planting and vivid Majorelle blue form the garden created by painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. Nearby, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech presents the designer's work through permanent and rotating displays. Conclude at Jemaa el-Fna, the city's historic meeting place, where commerce, music and oral performance shape a UNESCO-recognised cultural space. Particular performers and activities vary by time.
Marrakech – Casablanca
Check out and travel from Marrakech to Casablanca, with the transfer timed around the group's flight schedule. At the airport, say farewell to the guide and fellow travellers before departure. If you would like to see more of Morocco, ask the team about arranging a separate extension to another destination.
Budget separately for international flights, travel medical insurance, attraction tickets and optional Sahara activities. Entrance fees are estimated at approximately €85 in total. Quad-bike and buggy rides are charged separately, so set aside an additional allowance for whichever desert activity you choose. Meals beyond those listed as included, drinks and personal purchases are also paid individually.
Groups usually have six to thirteen travellers. The departure can still operate when the usual group size is not reached, including when only one guest has booked. Vehicle and guiding arrangements are matched to the final number of participants, so smaller departures retain the planned route in a format suited to the party.
The journey combines boutique hotels, riads, three- and four-star properties and a desert glamping camp. Rooms are based on double occupancy, and a single room costs an additional €250. If an intended property is unavailable, an equivalent or higher-category alternative may be used, so the exact accommodation mix can vary by departure.
A €400 deposit secures your place on the tour, and the remaining balance is paid in cash to the guide on arrival. Before payment, keep a written record of the total price, chosen departure, payment currency and cancellation conditions so that the amount due at the start of the journey is clear.
A 24-hour cancellation window allows a full deposit refund. More than 45 days before departure, payments are refundable less costs already incurred. Within 45 days of departure, the deposit may instead be transferred to another tour date within one year. Ask for the exact start of the 24-hour window and the relevant deadlines to be recorded when booking.
The guide's normal working day is approximately eight to ten hours and does not include round-the-clock availability. Scheduled sightseeing and transfers are planned within that working window. Requests for help or activities outside the programme should be discussed with the manager in advance.
